Bluewire MADE it happen!

Recently, we have been involved in some projects that we would like to share with you. Unfortunately, we are unable to disclose the names of the clients in some cases, simply because we were contracted through another entity to fulfill. But it is just that, fulfillment, which gets us excited so we'd like to share as much of our experiences as possible.

Ok, you've got 45 days to…..

This year we were called to provide a project management resource for a job that was made up of two high-level objectives. Objective number one was to build-out a complete business infrastructure to support approximately 40 user nodes and a variety of new equipment relative to a financial institution. Objective number two was to establish a plan of separation for the client from their current providers of broadband, telephony, hosted server and application services. Within the application area alone, there were over 15 enterprise level programs to plan for and issues such as who has / owns the license were all there to consider. As the title insinuates, we had 45 days to make this happen. We had three resources to work out all things technology in this project. It was imperative that we identified a path that was solid with all contingency plans identified.

Within each objective there were several complexities. For example, within objective one, the new infrastructure needed to be placed in one new office area and connected to another retail area in a different building. A challenge such as that described is seemingly easy, except when the two areas are concrete floors and a few old wall jacks left over from a previous tenant. Every aspect of the areas, including the new CAT5, 6, fiber, digital video feed(s) and security system wiring was yet to be done. There were a multitude of different vendors who needed to perform their function in sequence with others and, unfortunately, people rarely go out of their way to help coordinate what you need them to do for you. Although workspace build-outs happen every day and they typically come together quite well, given the time constraint it was imperative that there was a central point of coordination and communication and that the 1, 2, 3 of the matter be developed very quickly.

Bluewire's representative on this job became that central point. We went above and beyond and bridged the gap between client, construction and vendor to determine who needed to do what and when, then who needs to know when it was done. In this project, there wasn't a single client or vendor contact who didn't know the project's progress, accomplished milestones and upcoming efforts. The project closed out on time and within the budget. Literally, on the 30th day the office area was occupied and utilized to conduct normal operations using newly implemented systems. On the 45th day the retail location opened for business and did business without a single hitch.

All parties involved boast extreme success with making this happen and doing so according to a well developed plan.
